I have a few friends who are the best in the world. They help me in times of need, protect me when my back is turned, and love me when I can't even love myself. I honestly don't know where I would be without these friends.
The first friend I am going to talk about has been by my side since fourth grade. Riley is my best friend (that is a girl) and she is practically my sister. She is so beautiful, funny, and odd, which is what I like most about her. The story of our friendship isn't like most stories. Actually, our friendship didn't even start as friendship, I started out as hatred for each other. Riley and I hated each other and fought very often. Our very sweet and very genius teacher pulled Riley and I out into the hall one day and told us that we had to be nice and become friends or she would send us to the office. After that Riley and I started being nice to each other and by the end of the year we loved each other and we have loved each other ever since!
The next friend that I am going to talk about is my best guy friend. My best friend Jake is the number one reason why I do anything other than complain and be a Debbie Downer. Jake is the kind of friend that you admire and learn from. So far he has taught me that it is important to try your best no matter what you are doing, and right now he is trying to teach me to be less of a Debbie downer (even though it's hopeless). Jake is always very calm, optimistic, and supportive. I often look to him for a boost of confidence and a positive outlook on any situation. Jake is the little light in a room filled with darkness, that little light can fill the whole room and eventually make the darkness go away, which is my favorite thing about him. I am so unbelievably grateful that I have such a wonderful friend in my life.
Another friend that I am going to talk about might seem odd to you, but not to me because I have been friends with this person since I was born. As I used to say when I was six, "My dad is my very bestest friend!" My dads name is Bobby, and him and I have always been two peas in a pod. My dad is not like other dads, he is better. He protects me from the monsters under my bed and the prank phone calls that never seem to stop calling me, but not only is he my protector he is my number one fan. He is always at a track meet, basketball game, softball game, or a choir concert to cheer me on and tell me that he is really proud of me. When I was little my dad used to take me to candy stores and Walmart so he could buy me whatever candy or toys I wanted, but eventually we stopped doing that because my mom got mad. Instead of buy candy and toys, my dad and I would go to the Daddy Daughter Dance to talk, eat, and dance the night away. When I got older, at the end of every Daddy Daughter Dance they would play the song Butterfly Kisses by Bob Carlisle. As my dad and I danced to the song I would cling to him, crying my eyes out because I knew we only had a few more years of going to the Daddy Daughter Dance (there was an age restriction). When the Daddy Daughter Dance ended for us I got worried that we would drift apart, but we never did. My dad and I still do everything together and we hangout all the time because a friendship like ours never ends.
This is my friend Kimber(Klipperly). I think Kimber is so very beautiful. I met Kimber in forth grade when I met Riley. When I first met Kimber I thought she was mean and bratty, but as I got to know her I fell in love with her harsh sense of humor and her hilarious attitude. Kimber is an amazing friend because she always protects me, makes me feel better when I am sad, and reassures me when I am worried. Kimber and I grew apart over the past couple of years, but this year Kimber and I are coming back together. I'm so glad that Kimber and I are getting close again because I really love being friends with Kimber.
This is my dear friend Ashtyn(Ash). Ashtyn is, by far, the sweetest person I have ever met. Ashtyn and I started being friends back in forth grade. Ashtyn and I did so many things together when we were younger like swimming in Lake Monroe and camping in my backyard. Ashtyn is just so great that I can't explain how wonderful she is. Sadly Ashtyn and I haven't had many classes together for the past three years, but her and I are starting to talk and hangout more, which makes me super happy because I really missed her sweet and positive attitude.
I have a friend who makes the bad times not so bad. His name is William, but everyone calls him Clark. He is one of the best guys I have ever met. Clark is special, very special. By special I mean he is unbelievably kind, funny, and charming. He is just a really great person and whenever I am feeling down he always knows how to make me smile. Not only is Clark a great friend, but he is also a spectacular person. One of my favorite things about him is that he can sing extremely well. When he sings I can't help but smile because it is just so amazing.
